About the founder, Cyndi Smith:
Cyndi has been an online professional since 1995. Her original career background was in Marketing Management (for the Automotive industry), and as soon as the "Inter-Network" became public, she was hooked and decided to become a part of this growing new world. She wrangled a contract position working for Toyota in development of their first online parts catalog in 1995.
Cyndi's first professional webmaster role began in 1996 for an international rock concert lighting company, and she eventually moved on to be the full time Internet Marketing Manager and Webmaster for a major ski resort in Colorado. During this time, she also started to independently run several small business websites.
"Applying my Marketing Management background to my web development and webmaster experience was not just great for businesses, it was fun and challenging," says Cyndi. "In the early days, Internet Marketing was really like a game where you could instantly see results and compare yourself to your competitors. In the ski industry, ROI was tangible! The technology and tactics evolved rapidly, but their application was very inexpensive. When the travel industry took a huge hit after 9-11, Internet Marketing helped struggling resorts keep their marketing efforts alive and well.
